Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Power Supply & Appliances
What kind of power connection does the TinyKüche need?
In general, a 230 V / 16 A outlet is sufficient for standard use. However, if the oven and both cooking zones are used on full power simultaneously, the load may be too high. Using one cooktop and the oven at the same time is no problem.
Typical power consumption of our appliances:
-
Oven: approx. 2300 watts
-
Ceramic cooktop (2 zones): up to 3400 watts (on full power)
-
Induction cooktop with booster: up to 4000 watts (2 zones on full power)
-
Dishwasher: up to 1380
-
LED lighting: approx. 15 watts (negligible)
Our recommendation:
One 230 V / 16 A outlet near the waste bin module is sufficient – as long as the oven and both cooking zones are not running on full power simultaneously.
For more flexibility, we recommend two separate outlets in this area.
Do I need a high-voltage connection (400 V)?
Only if you choose a cooktop with three or four zones.
Do I need an electrician?
If a 230 V / 16 A socket is available near the bin module, and you order a magnetic backsplash, then no electrician is needed. We pre-wire all appliances (extractor, wall cabinet light, cooktop, fridge, dishwasher, oven) to a single multi-plug unit.
Water connection
Do I need a plumber?
Yes. A plumber is needed to connect the sink and faucet.
If no water inlet/outlet is available at the wall, a plumber must install the necessary plumbing beforehand.
Delivery, Installation & Warranty
Do you deliver to Germany?
Yes, we do! Just let us know your location. Depending on the distance, we may also offer on-site installation.
What is the current delivery time?
Around 6 weeks after order confirmation. During holiday periods (e.g. Christmas, summer), up to 8 weeks.
Is delivery & installation within Switzerland possible?
Yes, absolutely. The additional cost for installation depends on the location and is listed in the offer.
What kind of warranty do I get?

TinyKüche (excluding appliances): 5 years
-
Appliances: 2 years (according to manufacturer policy)
-
Wood surfaces & fronts: no formal warranty – but we provide a care oil to maintain them properly over time.
Planning & Customization
How do I get a quote?
Please send us:- the available kitchen length (e.g. 190 cm),- your preferred appliances (e.g. dishwasher, oven, extractor, wall cabinet),- a photo of the kitchen wall (for plumbing reference),- and your desired worktop & fronts. We'll send you a hand-drawn sketch and a detailed quote with various options.
What is a side spacer and do I need one?
A spacer (approx. 20–30 mm wide) is used if the kitchen ends at a wall on one or both sides. It compensates for crooked walls and ensures drawers open smoothly.
Can I order the kitchen without appliances?
Yes, although we don’t recommend it. We can usually get appliances at better prices than you could as a private buyer (e.g. from Germany or Nettoshop). We charge a 15% handling fee – but this includes unpacking and proper installation.
Can the cooktop be placed above the oven?
Yes. The typical layout is: cooktop, then a panel, then the oven, and a drawer at the bottom. Not possible: cooktop above both oven and dishwasher – it would be too high.
Do you offer tall cabinets?
Yes, on request. Though in most tiny kitchens, there’s not enough room for them.
Do you only build tiny kitchens?
No – the modular system can also be used to design large kitchens, including elevated ovens and dishwashers, or extended storage space.
I don’t want the oven too low – is that possible?
Yes. However, we recommend keeping the dishwasher low, as it's used more frequently. Alternatively, we can build two modules – one with the oven at the top, one with the dishwasher at the top.
Can I get a larger cooktop?
Yes – cooktops with 3 or 4 zones are available. A 400 V high-voltage connection is required.
Can I have a larger oven?
Yes – we can integrate larger ovens into a matching cabinet module.
Materials & Maintenance
Which worktops do you recommend?
-
Marine pine plywood: beautiful but soft and delicate. Not suitable for rentals.
-
Black-stained birch plywood (oiled): much harder and great with light fronts and black appliances. May stain a little at first – but can be re-oiled.
-
For rentals or holiday homes: we recommend robust materials like stone or stainless steel
